This new concept in publishing—marrying the newspaper with the blog with the network of reporters—was the brainchild of Jonathan Weber.

It leverages the power of open source technology in that it uses ExpressionEngine for its blogging, content management and web application functions.

We built the initial version in about 2 months. We continue to revise to this day, increasing functionality, improving usefulness, generating more traffic.

It’s a successful model that proves you need not spend mondo dollars to build a strong web business.
