Acronym
This module allows you to use acronyms in your content with specific behavior. An acronym is usually a letter combination symbolizing one or a few words. An example could be the acronym 'EE' for 'ExpressionEngine' or 'AOL' for 'American Online'.
With the standard use of the module an acronym in your content that matches an acronym definition as defined in your list will be displayed underlined. When the user places the cursor over the acronym the cursor will transform into a question mark and the acronym description will appear in a title box.
CONTROL PANEL MANAGEMENT
Maintaining different groups of acronyms is a breeze through use of the module's control panel. Acronyms can be added, modified and deleted on the fly without any coding. You can export and import acronym groups and the module features a search capability facilitating in quickly finding the acronyms you are looking for.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONALITY
The replace string functionality is an option in the Acronym Group preferences allowing the acronym to be replaced by its definition or html code when the posting is shown in the user's web browser.
