It would be very useful to have available as a variable in the email notification the member who made the edits. That way the site editor could know for example if it’s something she needs to take a look at or not.

It would be very useful to be able to make exceptions based on members or member groups. I’m working on a site right now where the site editor needs to be informed whenever her authors make changes, but when she is then notified and goes in and makes a change, she doesn’t need to be notified about her own change. More than that, it’s confusing because she doesn’t know if the notification is about her own change or if the author has gone back to the entry and edited it again.

Also, it would be good to have the status available. In my current setup, authors lack access to the “open” status and only the editor can change the status to “open”. If the status was available then the author could see in her notification that her entry’s status is now open.

I believe the above two paragraphs contradict each other, but still.

Suppress notification on Quick Save

Wow, sending an email every time someone does quick save is going to drive people nuts. It would be good to be able to turn that off.

weblog_id variable?

It would be gpod to have the weblog_id available in the notification template so that the link can be to the edit screen, ie, mywebsite.com/system/index.php?S=0&C;=edit&M;=edit_entry&weblog;_id={weblog_id}&entry;_id={entry_id}—in fact to me this would be the most obvious place to send ‘em.

UPDATE: Argghle, wotta fool. We already know the weblog don’t we because this is set for each weblog!

No excuse, it’s not even late…

Some small issues with EUN 2.0?

What fun. Couple o things with EUN 2.0:

- It doesn’t seem to work if either template is set to one beginning with a period (you know, for secret templates)

- If I don’t set the second template to something, I get all kinds of errors. Might be better just to make this a mandatory parameter? (ie it stops you if you try to avoid selecting a template)

- I seem to get an error when using {url} because it doesn’t add a slash between my domain name (www.example.com) and the index.php.

I noticed docs on this… does it exist?

I’m trying to figure out a way to notify the author of a question when it is answered. Answers are handled via a SAEF. Would this handle it?

Entry Update Notification 2.0

This extension allows you to send customized notification emails when entries are edited. You can specifiy an email address and/or the author of the entry to recieve notifications, which are triggered through CP edits, SAEF edits or both. You dedicate a template among your site templates to serve as the notification template. In that template you can have any EE tags you like and you can feed to those tags the entry id of the entry that was edited. Additionally, you can specify different weblogs and different settings per weblog.
