Hi there,

I’ve just done a fresh install of the tag 2.09 module and am pretty sure I’ve followed the instructions in the readme file.

I have a problem with the Manage Preferences section of the control panel.  When I click the Create Preference button, I go to a page where I have to enter a preference name, select the weblog, then select a tag field.  My issue is that whilst the weblog selection is a dropdown list, even after I’ve chose a weblog, there is no dropdown list visible next to the Tag Field row.  And I cannot save the Preference as it says a tag field must be declared!  What’s happening here?  Why isn’t the tag field appearing after I’ve chose the weblog?  Do I even need to bother creating a preference with version 2.09?

Another issue I’ve got relates to the Tag tag on the entries form.  Clicking the Suggest Tags button doesn’t do anything at all, and typing into the field below it doesn’t do anything either.

Any ideas what’s going on here?  I’ve tried this in Safari 3 Beta and the latest Firefox (both on a Mac) and have the same issues with each.

Thanks,

Ste

I thought I’d add, before I did the fresh install, I did try to upgrade it from version 1.6. I followed the steps for upgrading in the readme file only there was no option to ‘Upgrade’ as stated in the readme.  Instead, I found that it still said I was using version 1.6, then a few minutes later, it said the module was version 2.09. I’m adding this info as it may help to explain the issue I’m having above, or pinpoint which file is going astray?

Thanks,

Ste

SM9,

You’re experienceing a problem with the Tag module accessing the Javascript files necessary for the module.

Make sure that the control panel url you have set in your EE preferences matches the url that you are currently using in your browser. If you designate that www is required in your url, then make sure that you are using www when you access the CP, for example.

I’ve checked the URL of the CP in the EE General Configuration page and it’s correct.  I tried it both with and without the question mark after index.php but with no success.

One thing I wanted to check is the location of the tag_themes folder.  I have placed the folder within the themes folder, so the URL of it is: www.beta.mywebsite.com/themes/tag_themes/ Is this correct?

What else should I try?  Or which files in particular do you think I am having the JavaScript/Ajax issue with?

Thanks,

Ste

SM9,

Would you like me to login and have a look?

Also, please note, the features you are talking about are ‘extras’ on the Tag module. We can surely get them to work for you, but the module is fully effective in the interim without the extras.

Hi Mitchell,

I couldn’t figure out how to send you a PM with my details (the PM button kept redirecting me to your profile page) so I clicked the Email button instead and have just sent you the login details.

I take on board your note - I only have one entry with the keyword tags and that works fine.  I was just wondering what I was doing wrong in getting the other things working.

Thanks,

Ste
