We’re getting into the favourites module right now and I’m seeing every entry that I’ve uploaded is considered to be a favourite. If we don’t want that, like how YouTube works, how would we go about changing that? I figured there would be a preference for it, but no such luck (although having access to the returned text is very cool).

So what you’re saying is EVERY entry on your website is being set as the members’ Favorite with the Favorites Module?

I’m saying that each member’s favourites are already populated with every entry they’ve published (through a SAEF). Eg. I go to my favourites list and I see all of my own entries.

I went into the DB and removed them for now, but is this expected behaviour?

By default it is set up that way… if you’d like to change it, go to the Favorites Settings in the Extensions section of the CP (and change Add Favorites when blog entries are submitted to NO):
