I actually like that behavior. I can see it being very useful in certain circumstances. I love this module, and I’m only using a fraction of it’s power.

Hi, i recently purchased the User Module and am having troubles with the registration form. I can’t seem to figure out how to get photo uploads to work on the registration page, is this possible with this module? I had it working on my regular old registration page using the directions/extension found in this thread: http://expressionengine.com/forums/viewthread/49775/ but no files are being uploaded when using the User Module’s registration form. Any help would be very much appreciated, thanks!

We’ll be adding in this capability within the next two weeks or so.

I really need that functionality, so that is great news. That’ll definitely make this great module even better. in the meantime i’ll try and fix up the default EE register file to match my site. When the new version is available will previous customers be notified via email?

I try not to send out too much email. Would you mind checking back at Solspace Software in a week or so?

I’ve a quick question.

I’d like to post a new blog entry when a user registers. I’d like to do this so that that blog entry can appear as/on their profile page so that they can have a comments ‘wall’.

Is this possible by modifying the registration part of the Users module?

I’d like to do this with the most minimal affect to the Users module so if it is possible to create a seperate plugin to run within the {exp:user:register} tag, then that would be ideal.

Tony,

An extension hook could be added to the User module that would allow you to write an extension to do what you describe. It’s not in our current plans right now though.

Hey guys,

Just wondering if there was any kind of news on the Friends module? Any slight hint of a release window?

Thanks for the reply.

I really can’t wait for this!
(I’m building a social networking site and the Friends functionality will be essential for me.)

If I had money - I’d throw it at you!

I’ll just have to wait and throw a smaller amount at you when it’s out though wink

Tony,

If I could document the module fast enough you could use it now. It’s at an alpha stage. It’s up and running on a client site, but at this point held together with dental floss and chewing gum.

Serisouly though if you need any testing or anything like that, gimme a shout - I’ve got a dev version of the site I’m intending it for.

Was this capability to have photo uploads on the registration page ever added to the user module? I just downloaded the new version 1.19 but i still can’t seem to get it to upload any images.
