I’ve added mailinglist="players" to my freeform tag and can see the hidden input on my form but when I submit the form, I don’t get any entries added to the mailing list or an email asking me to opt in.

This may be odd, but I was having trouble with this also and checked the forum the other day and found this thread so I decided to wait for a fix. Since then it has miraculously started working?!?!??!?!?

While showing a client how to manage their site last night I was telling them how the mailing list was not being populated yet because of a bug in the software. Then I go show them the mailing list and all my test entries plus a few real entries were in the mailing list already.

Weird.

So does 2.6.2 fix the issue? I haven’t checked back recently but the last version I downloaded was 2.5.9. Does upgrading just involve uploading the new files over the old ones?

This issue is not specifically corrected in the latest version of Freeform yet, although it seems that for Phil it’s fixed.
I think the problem seems to be intermittant for some people.

As far as upgrading, just download the latest version of Freeform, then follow the instructions in the Zip file
It’s pretty much re-uploading the files overtop of your existing ones, and then clicking into the Module through the CP to run the little upgrade script.

Has this issue been corrected? I have a mailing list setup, but users are not getting automatically subscribed to the mailing list when they complete one of the forms on my site. I have inputted the freeform tags mailinglist="default" and mailinglist_opt_in="no", but users still seem to be receiving the “opt-in” email.

Any suggestions?

Hello all. I don’t think this issue has been resolved, but I was able to get this to work by adding the following code to my forms:

I still added mailinglist="default" to the freeform tag so Freeform knows what list to add users to.

Now my forms automatically subscribe users to the mailing list without sending the opt-in email. Hope this helps.
