I’ve been struggling to figure out why my EE setup was really slow.

EE 1.6.2
Tag 2.1.0

Specifically, when I select an article to edit (clicked on the article name), or selected Publish, each of these processes would take up to 45 seconds before EE would display the form.

In testing we noticed that when you click on Tag on the modules page it would also take up to 45 seconds to open up the Tag Admin Tab.

So I removed the Tag Module and the system is flying again - fast as lightning.

Removed all the tag related files, downloaded again and reinstalled - same thing. So slow that it’s unusable.

HELP!!

That’s strange. I wonder if perhaps it’s conflicting with another module or extension…

What others do you have installed (that affect the Publish page)?

Where is the code tag_js?

The slowdown appears to be around retrieving that code….
