Hi everyone,

We are pleased to announce that a bigger and better, more in-your-face Freeform is in the works… Freeform Pro.
To be completely upfront with you, Freeform Pro will not be a free module, but it will come with a bundle of new features, as well as FULL support and ongoing development.
Not to worry, Freeform “classic” will still remain free, and available smile

Over the years there’s been many feature requests and suggestions… and we probably haven’t been keeping complete track of everything.
This is why we’re looking to the community to help us with new feature suggestions! smile

Please, we welcome all suggestions… do not hesitate to suggest some of your deepest, darkest Freeform fantasies! LOL
This is not to say we’ll add everything suggested, but don’t be surprised if we do!

I’m going to spill the beans and mention that Freeform Pro will have EDITING capabilities!
There’s others in consideration… but I wont mention them yet wink

Last but not least… in appreciation of your previous and ongoing support for Freeform, we’ll be giving out a few free copies of Freeform Pro to the best suggestions!

Sorry Mitchell! It’s too late… I’ve already posted… now we’re stuck giving out some free copies rasberry cheese

Post your suggestions below! smile

1. Ability to have Constant Contact opt-in. Just like the extension for the member signup you guys have.

2. The ability to store the forms in the module itself. So you would store all of your forms in the module and just be able to pull them into templates with a tag that could take parameters (ex: form name and maybe variables). {exp:freeform form="contact" variable1="bleh"}
Then in the form itself, the ability to support conditionals.

3. Ability to use Freeform for Stand Alone Entries submissions.

4. Easier configuration of response templates both to the submitter of the form and the recipient. HTML designed templates would be nice!

5. The ability to add a form directly into a weblog post similar to a relationship field. So it would be a dropdown list of all your freeforms. The default would be blank/null/none. You could then select what form (if any you wanted to add to the weblog post). Then in your weblog template you could have a conditional like so {if form} {exp:freeform form={form} variable1={custom-field1}} {/if}

6. ability to integrate with SalesForce.com. So on submitting the form it goes into the Freeform db and gets submitted to SalesForce as well. (this has been a common request from my larger clients and a reason sometimes for not using Freeform)

1. Ability to define multiple recipients based on radio choice for example.

2. Mailbuild API connection based on tickbox (I want to join mailing list too)

3. Auto Responder features (sign up triggers series of scheduled emails)

4. Parameter for secure or non secure mode (http: or https:)

Sorry posted first before finding this thread.

To summarise :

Basically the function I am looking for is the ability to sort form entries by country and display country flags integrating with the origonal ip2nation or EE’s module version of it.

How about an RSVP or “reserve” feature that would associate an entry with a form? An entry could be assigned as an “event” from the entry editing page along with an assignable number of total “attendees”. Each form response would reduce the available number, this way it could also be used to create an appointments or reservations calendar allowing a member to schedule their own appointment by responding to an “event” (or “availability") by clicking a button or link optionally labeled “reserve” or “RSVP”. Then their member name would be assigned to the entry (similar to how Freeform keeps track of replies to specific forms) and change the “event” or entry status to “reserved”, maybe even possibly adding the “event” link to their Bulletin Board or something? Hope that made sense. Drupal has a module called RSVP that does some of this.

I have a form in html that I’m planning to recreate in FreeForm (see => http://kljlimburg.be/inschrijven/impuls07/impuls-ins.htm ).
Basically, it is a subscription form for trainingcourses. In the first few fields, you get basic contact information and how much people you want to subscribe.
This number is then used to show (dynamically) the information fields. As far as I know, that’s not possible currently in FreeForm (but I’m able to bypass this).

What I really would like is some features adding to the Export functionality:
1. Export in PDF… I’m trying to accomplish this by modifying the module at the moment by using EZpdf (http://www.ros.co.nz/pdf/)
2. Export some fields only (in the field I described earlier, I would only want to export the participants and not the contact person).

1) Ability to use it as a contact form that can handle attachments (and does not store the submission or attachment on the server).

2) Ability to use it as a SAEF that includes file uploads for normal site members.  So say if you have jazz music website, users of that site could post to a weblog through a SAEF and upload an MP3 to a specifc directory (a nice option would be to have it in a directory based on their member id).  After sucessful upload and form submission the SAEF just stores the mp3 url in a text field.  It would be nice if the file upload happened when the user submitted the entry (no popup upload menus etc).

I would love to have the ability to allow users to preview their entries before submitting them to us.

Hello Pie Man,

I’ve been away from the forum for a while and missed this announcement. My response (as someone who donated for the current Freeform) is “Hooray!”

My #1 suggestion would be to provide a ‘back-end’ to freeform so that I don’t have to give editors who need access to Freeform data access to the CP “Modules” tab. I would like Freeform to expose the formatted data on a page that would be visible to any user with a sufficient EE ‘privilege’ level.

Suggestion #2: I’ve used Freeform in an HTTPS environment but this needed a couple of hacks (here). I would really like to see this (pretty simple) facility built-in.

Suggestion #3: Filtering by author_id. I developed a work-around but it’s ugly.

Suggestion #4: All Freeform implementations use Forms (duh!). But forms are often as ugly as sin. Bad ugly sins, too. I like to code my own CSS forms as much as the next guy (that is, not much when I’m pressed to get something done). So, how about a couple of built-in or associated templates for CSS forms that integrate Freeform functionality (tags) so I could just add a parameter to a Freeform tag to get some (at least basic) formatting (and fries) with that. Things like fields that left- or right-align within a block or tags that come with a ‘fieldset’ already constructed. I won’t use them all the time. But I’ll use them when I want to save time....

Suggestion #5: The presentation of the data from a form set (currently in the Modules tab is neat. But it could be a lot neater if it were sortable by the field headings (i.e. columns). Also, I use a lot of hidden fields for communications between forms and these turn up (of course) in the field set. That’s good. But the table quickly gets too wide for easy use (after about a dozen fields, I find). Is there some way to get rid of some fields? For example, could the “Form Name’ and/or “template” fields be a drop-down menu so that all form data related to a template or all data in one form set is collected in one table (no need for a ‘template’ or a ‘form’ field in the reporting table).  There may be several design solutions to this , so I don’t want to be too specific. But my templates might have 20-or-so fields attached to them: I want to manage this data quickly but more compactly than the current solution allows (see suggestion #1, too)

Best,

Peter

I missed this too… I’ve been busy on a couple of neat writing gigs (neat if you’re a tabletop roleplayer, at least), and haven’t been paying attention…

1) The ability to parse PHP in notification templates
2) The ability to have a separate form upload an image and associate it with a specific previously existing freeform entry.

Built in jQuery calendar function.

Prefilled fields that clear onFocus. (E.g. Enter your name here)

You can easily do this already smile

<input type="text" name="field_name" value="Enter your name here" onfocus="value=''" />

Hey, Pie Man,

If I point out a significant typo, do I qualify for the freebie?

The title to this post says: Freeform Pro Reature Requests

Is that supposed to be Feature?
