Hopefully a quick to answer question this one.

I successfully have Freeform working to send e-mails to a moblog address so that I can use it (Freeform) to post to a weblog. I currently use LiveValidation on the form so that it can’t be submitted until everything has been filled out correctly.

All of this works absolutely great but I want to send the person back to the same form after the submission has gone through. This also works but what I would like is to be able to show a message to this effect on the page. Obviously I can’t hard-code this into the form as it would just show as soon as they go to the page which would look a little silly. At the moment it all works fine and you are re-directed to the form but because this is now in effect a new submission all the fields are empty so it looks a little confusing to anyone who doesn’t know what’s going on.

If anyone has an idea of what I am babbling on about and knows of a clever way to implement this then I would be exceptionally grateful.

We always just add a third segment to the return url like thankyou or something. Then we detect it in the template and show a thankyou message above the submission form.

Mark, please don’t fret that you didn’t figure it out. This is exactly my question, and I’m not EEexpert enough to say (as you did) “Pretty much after I had written it I figured it out. What a ker-plonker I am!!”

As it is, I’ll have to do some more figuring to get to the point of implementing what you and Mitchell so blithely discuss. I’ll get there, though.

How exactly do I implement something like this? I add an extra segment to my URL, and it just goes back to the default index page for the template.

For example, I have a form on /services/design/ that gets sent to /services/design/thanks/ but instead of bringing up the page with the form, it goes back to the /services page.

Is it a problem that I’m using the Pages module to link to the page in question?

I’m pretty new to EE, and I haven’t been able to find an answer to this question anywhere.

Are you using the Pages module to output the page services/design?

If you want to do this method, you’ll most likely need to actually have this be a template_group/template

Yeah, the Pages module was screwing it up for me. I re-jiggered all of that and now it’s working fine.
