I have just purchased and installed Tag, according to the instructions.

Now, on the CP publish screen, I have both a visible custom field “Tags” which I created, and also a tab labelled “Tags” which provides prompting, etc.

I’m confused. I think I’m supposed to have created the custom field, but I don’t want my editors to see it when they create a page.

What am I missing?

The custom field is only important if you were collecting tags in it prior to install the Tag module. The Tag module allows you to harvest tags from custom fields in your blog entries so that you can convert from a legacy architecture easily.
