Morning all,

I haven’t been able to find a way to allow users to tag photos at the same time as they upload them on the frontend.  I was hoping a “tag_f” field would be available on the exp:gallery_extended:form method as with the SAEF but it doesn’t seem to be.

Am I missing something?

Cheers,
j.

smallbeer, You should be able to use the tag:form if you pass the type and entry_id parameters. But this would require that the image entry exists already at the time that someone submits the tag form.

OK so tags can’t be added at the same time as the image on the frontend then?

smallbeer,

Can I assume that you’re taking image submissions through the front-end by way of the GX2 module? Gallery Extended 2.0?

We’re working on some integration between the Tag module and GX2 to allow you to do what you describe, but it’s not ready yet.

mk

edit…

Yes of course you mean GX2. Sorry.

Qrat,

This currently isn’t yet available… though we still do plan to include this in the near future smile

Am I understanding this correctly?
There isn’t a way at all to submit tags at the same time as submitting a photo via the GX2 Form?

Correct. It can be done in the CP though.

I did see it in the GX2 CP, but that doesn’t help with user submission.  I guess the only option is to redirect to a tag form page after upload.  Very clunky… disappointing.  Any eta on when this will be integrated?

I just tried adding tags via GX2s CP and they did not add.  Did I miss a setting somewhere to enable it?

Try it from the native EE Photo Gallery CP and see if that works for you smile

works fine from there.  No worries… just pointing it out as it appears to be a problem with the module if there isn’t a specific setting.  Eitherway… adding tags via the GX2 form is a key feature that I will eagerly await.

I’m assuming you’re using Tag 2.1.1? I cannot seem to duplicate this issue. wink
