I have successfully copied files and Freeform shows up on the modules page.  However, when installing, I get a “unable to locate files” error and the install fails.  I searched on this and found one other instance which seems to be a bit different than this case.

Are all of your files where they should be?

/system/modules/freeform/mop.freeform.php
/system/modules/freeform/mcp.freeform.php

/system/language/english/lang.freeform.php

problem fixed, for some reason when the zipped files were extracted it duplicated directories.  Not sure why.  It appears to be working.
