When adding photos using the batch process to an entry, there is no way to give each one a title/caption.
Even an edit all with title/caption there would help.
When adding images using the Tab in the control panel, to be able to create a new gallery category.

We’ve added the ability to add/edit a caption to both Manage and Batch Entries tabs
