Looking at the information I get under Manage Preferences, there might have been something gone wrong with the install?

The Tag module also uses AJAX Javascript functionality to make your life easier. In the preferences you will indicate where the Javascript directory for the Tag module files is located. By default, the directory is located in your themes directory.

1. Manage General Preferences; Submit button returns no reply (eg. preferences successfully updated)
2. Create Preference: Tag field not showing
3. no javascript directory path location available
4. Extension manager indicates Tag submit (V. 2.07) (not V2.09?)

The Tab in the edit or publish page has no functionality either.

Looks like the Ajax function is not working but admittedly this line in the documentation

make sure that you are accessing your EE CP through the same URL you specified in your site preferences as the URL for your CP.

is rather confusing.

Little help?

Thanks!

PS: Added a screen shot to be more specific

Wimy,

I’ve tried to duplicate your issues and cannot. It seems to work ok for me.

As for: ”Create Preference: Tag field not showing
The Tag field does not show until you’ve created a name for the preference, and selected a weblog.

A common problem is that the System path may not be specified correctly.

Make sure your Admin CP configuration is correct:
CP Home › Admin › System Preferences › General Configuration

(this includes even having the index.php in the path)

I’m having the exact same issue on EE1.6.3.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled the module, then done it again with a total deletion of everything, including the database tables, a reupload and a re-install.  My path to the CP Index (as you suggested) is fine, but still nothing.  Any suggestions, please?  I’m fresh out of ideas.

OK, one thing I didn’t try - take the www. out of the url.  Took that out (noticed it wasn’t there in the browser address bar - I’d never noticed that before) and suddenly all is well.

Sorry!  I’ll try the glaringly obvious BEFORE posting next time red face

Yep, the address for the CP path has to match the way you’re accessing the Control panel well.
In your case, accessing the Control panel via www.yoursite.com would have “corrected” the issue smile

I’m fresh out of ideas on this one guys..

I am using Multiple Site Manager, and am also masking my admin.php file as something else. I’ve tried accessing my admin through the real system folder located on my main domain, and I’ve also tried accessing it on my secondary domain as well. I’ve tried accessing the admin with the www prefix, and also without it.

In the Publish/Edit pages, the Tag tab doesn’t seem to load any type of AJAX for live suggestions, etc. When I insert tags into the box, it seems to save in the system, but this feature is necessary for our operation. Also, within the Tag module settings, I can’t seem to “Create Preference”, as the Tag Field never seems to load up.

Looked at all the old posts, and this doesn’t seem to be helping me out.. >.< The AJAX in my Primary Category tab works like a charm, so not sure what’s going on. Oh, and this is not on a local server, similar to many of the others with a similar problem.

I’m assuming you’re using Tag 2.1.1? smile

Would I be able to have a look in your CP to verify the settings?

Mr. Dimsum,

Can you verify that all the Tag files have been uploaded? You’ll need to make sure the “lib” files have been uploaded as well. smile

"lib” files? I’ve checked the installer and there are no lib files whatsoever.

Here are the contents:
- extensions
- language
- tag
- tag themes

The readme.txt that is included also doesn’t state anything about any files necessary to be uploaded in the “lib” folder.

Would really appreciate the help.. I’m dying to integrate this.

UPDATE Just updated to the newest EE 1.6.4 and still have had no success on this. Been trying to figure it out all day. If anyone has any idea, feel free to let me know. Oh, and Kelsey, I dropped you a PM.. If you need any other info, no problem.

Hmmmm.... I thought it needed jQuery…
I guess the fact that you have User installed, that would have covered that basis.

In Tag, we embedded jQuery right into the mod.tag.php file.

Any other ideas guys? I’m using some pretty standard add-on’s, mostly Solspace, Playa, URL Field, LG Better Meta and that’s pretty much it.
