One text box, multiple entries

We have members who need to upload a single file that contains multiple blocks of text. Each block of text on the file is separated by mmm. Is it possible for FreeForm to recognize the mmm and separate the text blocks into multiple entries on a weblog?

I see a reference in the documentation to attachment parsing into entries, and I wondered if that might be the route to take. But I couldn’t find additional details.

I don’t believe this would be possible… at least out of the box anyway smile

The attachment parsing Freeform does is only “exterior” details such as filename, fileurl, extension, etc

Thanks for the response. Can you point me in the direction of someone who could give us a proposal for doing it that way? We need to find someone who could handle it within the next several weeks if possible.

I should be more clear and add that it doesn’t necessarily have to be a parsing of the attachment. It might also be parsing of text that is copied and pasted into a form box.

Scott,

What you’re essentially after is Freeform to detect “mmm” to trigger it to create a seperate WEBLOG Entry for each Text Section?
As in, Freeform, not just turning data into a Weblog Entry, into multiple weblog entries? smile

It sounds like a pretty dirty task, haha LOL

I’d recommend us (Solspace) to do this, however, we’re booked up solid. It’d take months before we could look at this.

Other than that, I’d try posting something on the ExpressionEngine Job Board smile

That’s correct.

Dirty tasks seem to come my way naturally. Thanks for the advice.
