Hey everyone. I’m new to EE and Freeform and had a quick question. When I create a new form field I only have the option of a text field or text area input. Is there a way to use Freeform to collect data from a checkbox input? I actually created an input as a text field and was able to use that ID on a checkbox input, but wanted to know if there’s a better solution.

Thanks in advance,
Manoj

That’s definately how you do it! smile
When you create a field in the Freeform CP, you’re not really limited to following the structure of it to those two options.
They’re only really controlled that way in the CP’s output of the data. If you think about it, Checkbox data vs Input field data would appear the same in the CP anyway. wink

We’re building a Freeform Pro, and we might go as advanced as having it act like Weblog Custom Fields where you can set pre-defined data for dropmenu’s etc. We’ll also spruce up the Freeform CP, so I suspect there’s a chance that we might revise the way fields are structed in the CP, or at least the wording. smile
