Maybe it is already there, or maybe not. This is the feature I want to have.

Let’s say you want to display the 50 most used tags in the past 10 days. That works but it shows them in a fixed order with the most used first. Now I want to randomize the cloud so it still shows the top 50 used but then in a random order. Is that possible?

Is it possible in the current version? if yes, where can I find that in the docs. if no, is it a feature that will be implemented in the next release? It is realy usefull for sites that have a lot of tags and want to display just a portion of it

Hillnut, we’ll probably wait until sometime after ExpressionEngine 2.0 is released…

To be completely honest, we have a lot of things on the go, as well as a bunch of bugs that have yet to be fixed.
I suspect this would be a low priority feature request. That said, I will still add it to the list smile

Maybe the random feature gives the wrong indication. The problem i’m trying to solve is the following. If I grab the tags from the past 10 days I can have over 150+ tags to be displayed. What i want to do is grab the top 50 tags of those 10 days and display them in a cloud in a different order then the default popularity or click it does now, eg. random or alphabetical. Why have a cloud if the cloud will display the popular tags on top and the least popular at the bottom, then I can display them as a list as well because it is not a cloud. Do you get the thought behind my request? or did I miss an option in the docs that it is already there. Most tagclouds I’ve seen work that way, you enter the criteria with which you can select the tags and then select the order in which they will be displayed, asc and desc is not sufficient to manipulate and smoothly display clouds.

Just to clarify, I did not mean that your request was “unnecessary” or a low priority overall.
It’s just that to my recollection, this is the first time this has been requested.

Secondly, with a lot of stuff on the go, to be completely honest, I’m guessing that this might not make it into the next few releases.

We do appreciate the feedback though smile
