Hi

I have geocoding by clicking on a link in the cp (quicklinks) that opens a template that takes address from a custom field, geocodes it, and updates latitude and longitude fields from the template.

Would be nice to have an extension that does the same by just saving the entry...saving the extra step
Possible or?

Bruce,

Have you heard of ”Cool Location”? smile
Or is this what you’re using?

I have used it yes, but not everyone wants the extra tab, and it’s no longer being supported and maybe removed from that site.
So while I use a template to do this usually, was thinking that removing the extra step geocode-from-template would be nice…

I’ll spill the beans a little, but we’re actually planning on making something like this, which of course, will kick ass smile

great to hear!
But I guess you’ll wait on the “when it’s done” release of EE? smile

Any plans btw for a better commerce system too?
I’m actually wondering which one u are using on solspace here. This isn’t simple commerce is it? It’s modified?

It’ll most likely work out that way, though we’ve now decided not to hold off for projects on EE 2.0 anymore.

Likely not. Though my guess would be that we’d build a bridge between ExpressionEngine and Magento Commerce before we ever attempt to tackle a mammoth like that. smile

Surprisingly, yes. It’s Simple Commerce.. on steroids that is. We’ve pumped it up a bit, and build a Paypal Pro add-on to complete it.
It’s still very clunky, but it does the job… sort of. wink
