Ooops!

Actually, it is available smile

Just add this to your template:

<input type="file" name="photo_filename" />

Hmm… just tried that, but it does not seem to upload anything? In the newly registered member’s profile both the photo and avatar fields are still empty as are there no newly uploaded files on the ftp to either photo or avatar folders.

In my current EE register page, which uses this extension: ext.avatar_with_register.php.zip (although modified for photos rather than avatars, as per instructions in this thread) this is what i have for the photo upload bit:

<input type="file" name="userfile" />

But it does not work on the register page i built that uses the User Module.

Hehe, it could be that I’m using 1.2.5.... neener, neener ,neener! *tongue* LOL tongue laugh j/k

User Module 1.2.5 is so cram-packed with new features I’ve lost track… it’s actually a bit scary! LOL

It should be out this week, so maybe we should wait for it then! smile

LOL!

I love the atmosphere on these forums…

smile

EDIT:

Almost forgot to ask… any possible news on the Friends module now?

If it’s in alpha, can I buy an alpha copy and ‘help’ with testing?

I’ll buy it now - you can treat yourselves and head down the pub or something… smile

Aw… wink

Well I just played with the photo submission on registration and it is a bit wonky chaps.

Firstly, I can’t get it to upload, it mumbles the following error (the photo was 100% ok as far as I know and I tried alternatives):

The filetype you are attempting to upload is not allowed
The type of image you are attempting to upload is not an allowed type.

...which in itself is a bit odd - appears to be repeating the same error twice.

And if it does fail, then it registers the user anyway, which means you can’t go back and retry as your details are now already stored in the db.

Another one for the list I guess… wink

Tony,

What are your settings for the Membership Prefs?
CP Home › Admin › Members and Groups › Membership Preferences

I’ve successfully managed to get this working for myself…

Otherwise yeah, seems a bit “wonky” anyway (registering the user anyway)

Is there something I should be looking for?

All my settings work fine for photo uploads with the regular users:edit forms.

I’ll play around a bit more but wonky is the word right now wink

back on topic - no friends alpha? rasberry
