The only complaint I have been getting from my editors in regards to the Related Entries module is not being able to put them in a specific order. Is this something that could be added in the future?

Fotrane,

We’re working on this as we speak. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the head’s up. I also forgot to mention one other request. My editor’s are asking for the ability to include the entries date next to the entry itself when viewed in the CP. When dealing with thousands of entries, they would simply like the ability to sort through the older stuff. Is this possible?

We’ll see what we can do. PieMan can track that additional feature request.

This should currently be possible by adding the “entry_date” variable in with the “Search Results Code” field in the Related Entries extension wink

{entry_date format="%F %d %Y"

Have you got something on this? My client wants the related entries to appear in the order she selects them. We’re using it to present a series of classes, that need to be taken in a certain order.  Thanks.

Hi Debra,

Related Entries currently cannot accomodate that, but it will be able to do so in the not-to-distant future smile

I saw that Mitchell is posting in the EE forum about upcoming improvements to Related Entries. My client is dying for being able to display related entries in the order she chooses, such as being able to drag and drop to re-arrange the list in the interface, or even assign some sort of list number ordering to the entries she picks.

Any news to report on this?

We’re indeed working on this (as well as several other awesome new features!). We still might be a month or so away from release though. But we are definitely more than halfway there grin
