Problem fetching images through Tracker

Hi everyone

Just started using Tracker, and I’m pleased to say that it’s working really well for basic things. Unfortunately, though, I need to pull images through from a weblog, and I cannot seem to get that to work. I have called two versions through tracker:custom_fields, but neither works. Both version work just fine in regular templates, by the way.

The first, preferred option uses an nGen File Field, but nothing at all comes through. Inspecting the parsed HTML page shows that tracker is returning just the file name, not the full path.

The second option uses a standard EE field, but again nothing comes through. This time the HTML code shows that tracker is not parsing the {filedir} variable.

Does anyone else have this or a similar issue? If so, any solution?

Thanks in advance for any advice you may be able to give.

Hi Andrew,

I don’t expect that Tracker will play nicely with Fieldframe fields, as they’re a bit of a treat….

We’re aware of the other issue, and it’s on the list to be corrected. smile

Hi Kelsey

Yeah, FieldFrame fields can be a bit hit-and-miss at times. It’s a pity, though, as the nGen File Field interface makes it so much easier for the end users. The standard EE way of inserting and recording images in fields is a bit confusing for the people that are using the system we have. I can probably work around the FieldFrame issue, so I’ll wait for the fix on the other issue.

Thanks for you help with this

Yeah, I completely agree… wink

When we rewrite Tracker for EE 2.0/1.6 compatibility, we’ll likely tackle all of it’s quirks wink
