I’m a newbie who has purchased various of your modules to help me create a website for a Catholic mission organization.  I’ve purchased the extended gallery, the tags, the selected and the file upload program.

I’ve installed the modules onto Windowtotruth.com.

I’ve installed the “pages” module for static pages on the site.  I’ve created some code to help me to show the selected menu item --but am having some difficulty with the segments.

Does your product work with the pages module?  Or, should I move away from that module when using your product and use another means of managing static content apart from using that module?

I have no first-hand experience with the static pages module, but I don’t see why it shouldn’t work. All the Selected plugin does, really, is take a look at the specified url_segment, and perform some replacements in your template. You could do that with a few lines of PHP (and the plugin is nothing else, really, all things considered), but it is much more convenient that way. Please let us know if you’re still having problems with that plugin, and perhaps post part of your template, so we can take a look at it together.

I have used the plugin myself in a recent project, and it worked fine.

Ingmar is right. On the whole you should be ok with Pages. However, I have seen many reports of people having trouble with segments once the Pages module is in place. I think man people have trouble with that aspect of it. It’s a tradeoff you make fr the convenience of the module.
