Problems with Suggest Tags

If I click on Suggest Tags in the Entry screen, it opens a small window and loads the CP!

I’m not really sure what else is supposed to be happening here.

I’ve set a weblog and custom field in the preferences section too. And my site config is set to the same URL as I’m accessing it from.

Lastly I can view jQuery no problems by copy/pasting the URL in the source code.

Any suggestions?

PS. I’m using 1.62 Build: 20080129

Ah it’s locally hosted I’m afraid. If you tell me what you want to see I can take a screenshot. Sorry to be a pain!

Stinhambo,

Don’t worry about it! rasberry

I personally have tested the Tag Module in a local server configuration and I don’t have any issues… ohh

If you can, I wouldn’t mind seeing the page with your System Configuration… smile

Send me it in a Private Message smile

Thanks,

Hmmm… everything appears to be correct.  long face

Does everything else in the Tag Module work correctly, or is it only this problem? smile

Well if I add a tag in the entry part it doesn’t stick when I return to it…

I installed it on another site (on MAMP) and I get the same problem!

I’ll try installing it on a live site to see what happens.

I am having the same problem…

the link the jquery searches (EG: /system/index.php?S=0&ajax;=tag_suggest) returns the home page but if i put that in to my browser I get ‘Couldn’t find any matching tags.’ which I assume is correct.

I have played with the sessions win EE but this does not seam to fix the problem…

Another thing is that the edit page loads very slowly, as it has to pull jquery from and another ajax file from index.php dynamically every time:

/system/index.php?S=0&ajax;=jquery
/system/index.php?S=0&ajax;=tag_js

Is their any way of speeding this up as the interface hangs… or could we turn off the search suggest feature?

We’ll be speeding this up quite a bit in EE 2.0. But for now, what I’d like to know is how you’re getting a semi-colon after the &ajax;param in the url? That shouldn’t be there.

I’m not totally sure, what ‘;’ is doing their.... it does not show might be the forums, (system/index.php?S=0&ajax;=tag_suggest)

But this does not solve my problem…

leondewey,

I’m at a loss. You’re running this on MAMP. Does that mean you’re running it locally? If not, I’ll login and see what I can find. You can email me at mitchell at solspace.com.

I am getting the same error. I just purchased Tags 2.1 and I get the CP when I click the suggest tags button. How do I solve this bug?
I get the same error on both Safari and FF on the Mac.

Maish,

In order for the AJAX code to work, the url through which you access your control panel needs to be the same as the url that you indicate as the CP url in your EE settings. Can you verify that?
